Sports Injuries

Jacqui has worked extensively with sports injuries since qualifying in 1989. Early in her career she worked, for several years, for English non league football teams. She has also assisted at various sporting events; including world cross country championships, table tennis and netball competitions. This has sometimes been as a lone physiotherapist and sometimes as part of a team.

In 1996 she completed a diploma in sports physiotherapy and then in 1997 left her full time job to undertake a years study for a masters degree in sports medicine, graduating in 1998. During her time in Glasgow studying for her masters degree she worked for the Scottish FA. Following this she went to New Zealand where she spent 4 winter seasons working in a ski resort treating acute and chronic snowsports injuries; seeing all levels of participants from recreational beginners to elite national team members. She also worked on “prehabilitation” programmes and injury prevention.

In 2002 she returned to work in the NHS working in Fort William where, in 2003, alongside DR Ellis she established and ran the highly regarded Lochaber NHS sports injuries clinic.
